When nightclub singer Deloris Van Cartier becomes an unwilling witness to a murder, the police hide her in the most unlikely of places—a convent! But bored and restless, Deloris has no intention of fitting in with the quiet life of the sisters under their rather strict Mother Superior. With her irrepressible spirit, she overturns convent routines and brings new life to the choir, transforming it into a popular musical sensation—though in doing so, she also draws the unwanted attention of the gangsters.
With music by Alan Menken—eight-time Oscar winner and the hitmaker of Disney classics (Beauty and the Beast, Aladdin, Tangled)—this musical delivers not only energetic numbers but also a funny and touching story about friendship, courage, and finding yourself.
