Intro
A project for writers of new, original, previously unreleased musicals. Submitted works are judged and evaluated by an expert jury. The culmination is a (one-off) public performance of the best-rated musicals.
INTRO '24 MINI
The INTRO project is intended for authors of new, original, previously unpublished musicals. It was founded in 2021 and its aim is to support original Czech works and at the same time to give new, often completely unknown authors the opportunity to present their works to both experts and the general public in professional quality acting and musical performance. The winning works of the first editions (Shake the Universe, A Song for Nina, Doctor Kroner's Magic Watch, Orlando, The Nightingale and the Rose) were very well received by the public and the audience on the internet platform Dramox, where the videos are still available. In 2023, the DJKT announced the INTRO '23 - JUNIOR project, focusing on musicals for children's audiences, which resulted in the winning title I Like Winter, performed on the New Stage in May 2024 by members of the DJKT Musical Studio.
For the 2024/2025 season, DJKT announces the INTRO '24 MINI project, focused on small-scale musicals for up to 5 actors. Once again, a jury of renowned theatre practitioners and musical theatre experts from across the country will judge all the entries, choosing the titles with the largest potential. The winning musical selected by the jury will be staged by members of the musical ensemble and premiered on the stage of the Malá scéna in February 2025, accompanied by a live orchestra, to the audience and experts.
