And yet it is precisely the meeting of two young people, Romeo and Juliet, that can transform this world, if only for a moment, into a more compassionate and sensitive place. A tragicomedy full of paradoxes: unbridled love makes the children more mature and responsible than their parents, who hate one another without even being able to remember why. A play of sharp contrasts, culminating in a painful yet fundamental realisation.

Just as in the last two productions in Plzeň, this ‘story of stories’ will be presented in the timeless translation by the Czech playwright Josef Topol. His adaptation allows the great Elizabethan playwright to speak in a language that remains alive today.
