Dracula
Who does not know hits like “You are my master” or “I know you are with me”? In the nearly thirty years since its creation, the original Czech musical, Dracula, loosely inspired by Bram Stoker's famous novel, has been seen by hundreds of thousands of viewers at home and abroad.
The romantic and mysterious story of the enigmatic Transylvanian Count Dracula is set in several centuries from the Middle Ages to the near future. During those centuries, the ruthless ruler and cruel warrior, afflicted with the curse of immortality and eternal desire for blood, becomes a broken man, longing for love and redemption. This new, original and first ever production outside Prague is presented with a cast full of Pilsen musical stars. The staging of the legendary musical, first performed in June 2024 as a summer open-air production at the Lochotín Amphitheatre, is also one of J. K. Tyl Theatre's contributions to the Year of Czech Music.
