The Immortal Lovers of Verona
The Immortal Lovers of Verona
Monika Švábová and Pavel Pavlovský once again as the ‘Immortal Lovers of Verona’, based on Miroslav Horníček’s work.
On Saturday 25 April, in the foyer of the Malá scéna, Monika Švábová and Pavel Pavlovský will be reminiscing about the actor, writer, clown, wonderful person and friend Miroslav Horníček. During this gathering, not only will memories of the Pilsen native be brought to life, but above all there will be a staged reading of his short play, which the author intended in his later years for himself and Stella Zázvorková. It was never staged at the time, and so the text waited many years to be rediscovered.
It is a Shakespearean variation entitled *Romeo and Juliet – The Immortal Lovers of Verona*, a gentle and witty play in which Horníček’s humour, perspective and flair for language are fully on display. Come along to this delightful gathering and let yourself be swept away into the world of Horníček’s ideas and kind words.
