All the Beauty in the World

All the Beauty in the World
The third event in the ‘Harmony’ series is dedicated to Jaroslav Seifert and (not only) his memoir *All the Beauty of the World*. Mácha seeks answers in tragic conflict and Hora in quiet meditation, whilst Seifert finds poetry in a careful observation of the world around him.
Grand historical narratives intersect with the small miracles of everyday life, and personal experience with an awareness of time and finitude. Seifert’s language brings a sense of reconciliation to the cycle: not the forgetting of pain, but the ability to see beauty even where the world remains unsettled and ambiguous.
Four occasional staged encounters with the works of Czech poets who have fundamentally influenced the perception of the Czech language. In the ‘Harmony’ cycle, a poet, an actor and a solo instrument always come together – that is, live music, the human voice and poetry. These staged performances will take place every Sunday at 4 pm.
