This operetta is often called the best work by Oskar Nedbal and is the second of his six operettas. Yet, on the basis of what music sounds in Polish Blood, many refuse to include its composer in the Viennese group of the time (F Lehár, O Straus, L Fall). His music remained markedly Czech. Even though he worked in Vienna, Nedbal did not succumb completely to the prevailing international musical expression. And this is why we find Polish Blood so appealing - it can be compared to the most renowned titles of this genre and still be so close to the Czech musical sentiment.
Premiere on 23 February 2013 at the Grand Theatre.
