A bitter comedy by the star of contemporary Russian drama tells a story of two elderly couples who late in life reflect on their lives and relationships.
Denni, just before his death, declares his love for his wife. His confession contains everything - woes, humility, reconciliation and happiness. How can the play progress when everything is being said at the outset? But this is really just the beginning. There come further and further interpretations of the love that, despite their essentially happy married life, unexpectedly affect the final farewell to this world of the two couples.
Text of Illusions is special in its form where actors move between identification with the character and distance in judgement.
Premiere on 1 April 2017 at the Black Box.
