"Being helpful is decadent," says a famous writer, the Nobel Prize winner, Abel Znorko, renowned for his arrogance. For many years, he has been living alone on a remote island in the Norwegian Sea; he does not accept visitors and fiercely refuses all interviews. But when a journalist from a regional daily asks him, he surprisingly agrees. He is faced with an interview about his last, most acclaimed book ‘The denial of love’ - a novel composed of passionate love letters dedicated to H. M. Who is hiding behind these initials? What else is the writer hiding? And what more does the journalist know? Both men will gradually uncover an enigma, a mystery more clouded than it first seemed, with sarcasm and disarming sentiment.
