A little boy’s story on the background of the great history
An original Czech musical from the life of a teenage Vašek, at the end of World War II fully immersed in his boy’s adventures and the first romantic encounters with girls. A bitter comedy written directly for the DJKT musical ensemble, takes place between 1944 and summer of 1945, when, just like during the war, the world fell apart once again. Vašek’s village and its inhabitants are affected both by the events of the Nazi occupation and the demarcation line – it runs right between two parts of his village and splits it into two territories of child gangs, as well as in two different camps of liberators. How will the people around Vašek put up with their everyday joys and troubles under the pressure of the great historical events? Will they be able to drop their grudges and overcome the new gaps? And will it be Vašek’s gang or the other one, of the adverse Kůžák, to win the petty but yet so important wars?
