The story full of the First-Republic magic about Hrabal's mother Maryška, stepfather Francin and uncle Pepin, who comes to visit and stays forever, has been loved by generations of readers.
In addition, the scents of pig-sticking, beer and Maryška's hair and the unmistakable humour of the quirky characters came to life in Menzel's magnificent film adaptation. It is therefore a great challenge to seize the story from the Nymburk brewery and try to transfer it to the Grand Theatre stage. We believe that, along with us, you will become participants in a unique spectacle. Who would resist such a sensually tasty Hrabalesque tomfoolery?
